Decorate (Pond Accessories - Fountain - Spitters) 

After the pond is built the real fun begins.  There are countless styles and looks you can create with your pond.  Create a natural waterscape with plants, fish, and turtles.  A contemporary patio pond can be simple with a fountain affect as the focal point.  A playful approach can include whimsical spitters and fog lighting. 

Plants

If you plan to turn your pond into a water garden, consider different types of plants that add texture, color, and variety to your waterscape.  Plant containers can float on the water or keep arrangements in one area.  Don’t forget the Aquatic Plant Fertilizer.

Fish

You can add fish to both natural and formal ponds. Although fancy goldfish do fine in shallow ponds, koi usually need about 3’ of water. Pond Blue adds a beautiful blue shade to the water that protects fish from predators and UV damage. If you plan on leaving your fish outside during freezing weather, use our pond deicer to keep an area of the surface free of ice.  Make sure to stock up on fish food and fish supplies.

Lighting

Lighting not only makes your pond area accessible at night, it also creates dazzling effects and makes paths and the water’s edge safer.  Pond lighting systems can be submerged, set up around the perimeter, or floated on the surface of the pond.  We are excited to now offer solar floating lights and a fountain fogger which creates a misty glow. LED lighting systems are energy efficient and cost effective and many feature dawn to dusk sensors.  This feature can be set to automatically turn on the light at night and turn itself off in the morning.

Spitters

It’s important to put oxygen back into the water for a healthy balanced pond environment.  Spitters and nozzles aerate the water and add character.  Spitters, small statues that ‘spit’ or squirt a stream of water into the pond, are often comical.  They are usually placed on or near the edge of the pond.  Nozzle kits offer you a variety of water displays which you can adjust to varying heights depending on the power of your pump.
